(Oct. 9th) Time to update everyone on the happenings of Mean Marc Ash and give you some insight into the happenings of the world, the way MMA sees it!
Been quite awhile since I've updated this section of the website. And a little warning, I'll be pretty political in my comments as well as addressing some wrestling opinions I have as well.
The rumors surrounding CM Punk's title loss. The most popular one I'm hearing is he violated the dress code. A dress code for wrestlers is laughable to me. You can tell the days of kayfabe are gone. You would think that the "dress code" would be..stay in character!!! John Cena is allowed to wear his jean shorts & t-shirts..why can't CM Punk? I really don't see the Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, or Mike Knox walking around in suiits. I understand this isn't the 70's & 80's anymore but come on, people follow the wrestlers characters & that should still be the selling point. Why is this so hard to understand?
Trent Acid (Micahel Verdi) is in trouble with the law again. And his tag partner & best friend Johnny Kashmere posts a blog on it. And, of course, Kashmere makes everything sound like none of Acid's troubles are the fault of Acid himself. Let's start with the arrest that sent Acid to prison...Kashmere says, "Trent was arrested last year after violating his house arrest. He was standing across the street from his home, and someone called the police and turned him in for being within feet from his home. He did 9 months in jail for this." Ok, so someone snitched him out...well let's evaluate this. First off, if he was outside his home & further than the terms of his house arrest allowed him to be, well guess what..ACID IS GUILTY! And of course, why was he under house arrest to begin with? This fact is totally left out of the equation! I'm sure it's a totally bogus charge & Acid was set up blah blah blah.
Now, to the latest arrest...Kashmere says, "Flash forward to last month, Trent injures his wrist in a wrestling match. Unsure if it was broken or sprained, but it was put in a cast. Trent was given a prescription for percocet to help him deal with the constant pain. The police caught him in Philly with five pills on him and carrying no prescription. He was arrested and released on his own recognizance without having to pay anything as far as bail. Now, he must appear in court at the end of this month and produce his prescription. If he fails to appear, or if he fails to produce a valid prescription, then he may be arrested and possibly made to do the rest of his probation (1 year approx.) in custody." OK, before I even comment on the arrest & charge, why would Kashmere even add the "if he fails to appear"? If I were the local D.A. on this case, I'd have him brought in & placed under remand. This just makes it sound like he is at least thinking of running!
Kashmere says Acid was injured & given a prescription for the percocet, that's easily traced & the D.A. would do their homework on this before they waste the taxpayer's money & their own time on a trial. So, that means there is more to this story than Kashmere is letting on. If it does turn out to be something this simple then this will never go to trial or a hearing. If it goes that far, then Acid was not able to lead the D.A. to the doctor that prescribed these pills. Having worked in the prison system for the last 4 years, I have heard so many stories like this it isn't even funny. Then of course, when I log into OPUS (the law enforcement computer records prgram) & read the trial version, it is nothing like the story they try to publicize at all. And I really do not see someone being arrested for 5 percocet in their pocket...especially since the reason he was searched in the first place was completely left out of Kashmere's story as well!
Let's get the politics out of the way first. Barack Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize?! WTF!!! Let's see he has sent thousands of troops to Afghanistan, shot a rocket at the moon, turned his back on Israel, and further bankrupted our country (yeaah, I didn't think that was possible but he proved me wrong), ignored Iran's actions on their own citizens during the elections, & still hasn't produced a valid birth certificate! Of course, previous winners of the Nobel Peace Price include Yassar Arafat & Al Gore, so it's not like the credibility of this prize isn't already in the shitter!!
I will probably drop in at the UPWA show this Saturday night in Wilmington, NC, probably set up the gimmick table. Just to pay a visit & say hello to everyone. Haven't been to a show in a couple months & just want to check it out.
Indy promoters....do one thing..if you're running a venue regularly..learn how to properly run an angle. That's a major thing I see wrong with a lot of indy promotions. If you're running monthly shows..don't run a set up for angle this months & then wait several months to do something else with it..the fans have forgotten all about the set up at that point.
Now, I'll step off my soapbox for now. I'm sure I'll be getting bashed on some message board somewhere for my comments. But, ya know what....I sure won't spend anytime worrying about it.
